The component that is the watch. Sintered ceramic, coloured through rather than surface-treated, over a steel core carrying the movement. Its physical properties — low thermal conductivity, low density relative to steel, extreme hardness, brittleness — are bulk properties that a coating cannot reproduce, which is why the standard counterfeit fails on all of them at once.

Do the black, white and coloured J12 ceramics differ in composition or process in ways that affect their weight, hardness or thermal behaviour?

Scope The material tests this bundle leads with assume the ceramic behaves consistently across executions. That is very likely true and is not established, and coloured ceramics in particular involve different compositions. Worth confirming, because a test recommended this strongly should have its limits known.
