High confidenceThe aluminium insert used across Submariner production before the introduction of Cerachrom ceramic. Aluminium fades and marks with age; a uniformly perfect insert on a watch from the 1960s or 1970s is more likely a replacement than a preserved original, which is an originality observation and not an authenticity one.
