Unlike the vintage Milgauss calibers, the antimagnetic property here is partly in the movement as well as in the case shield. The distinction matters when assessing a 116400 or 116900 whose inner shield is absent: on these references that is a serious case finding, but the watch is not left entirely unprotected in the way a shieldless 1019 is.
