Urwerk Satellite wandering-hours caliber
High confidenceRecorded as a construction rather than a numbered specification. Its authentication value is that the mechanism is entirely exposed and entirely functional: there is no dial concealing anything, and correctness is judged by watching the satellites track and index rather than by inspecting a surface.

Architecture
An automatic caliber driving a carousel carrying hour satellites. Each satellite bears an hour numeral and travels along a minute track, indicating the time by its position, before indexing away as the next takes over.

Watch it for an hour and the answer is complete
Two things must be right. The active satellite's numeral must read the CORRECT minute against the scale throughout its travel, not merely start and end in roughly the right place. And the changeover to the next satellite must happen at the hour, cleanly. A copy without the gearing drifts against the scale, indexes at the wrong moment, or rotates at a constant rate regardless of the time. An hour of observation settles the question completely — which is rare enough to be worth the wait.
Service practice
Manufacture work with no generic parts supply. The satellite carousel is a mechanism with many small moving parts and servicing runs through Urwerk, whose records — at this volume — can confirm an individual watch.
