Bracelet
Integrated bracelets of this era are frequently stretched or replaced
A forty-year-old integrated bracelet has usually stretched at the pins, and because the bracelet is not interchangeable, replacements are scarce and expensive. A period PRX with a suspiciously tight, unstretched bracelet has either been rebuilt with new links or is wearing a bracelet from another watch. Both are originality findings rather than authenticity ones.
Combination
Do not judge a 1978 PRX against modern PRX expectations
The original is a thin quartz watch with period case finishing, a mineral or acrylic crystal and no Powermatic anything. Nearly every check that works on the modern watch is inapplicable, and applying them produces false findings. The two share a silhouette; treat them as unrelated watches that happen to look alike.
