The emblem is the most reproduced element on the brand

The six-pointed white emblem represents the Mont Blanc massif seen from above, and its proportions — the relative length of the points and the curvature between them — are consistent on genuine production. Counterfeit emblems are typically slightly too fat, too symmetrical or too sharply pointed. Because the same emblem appears on the writing instruments, an enormous counterfeit apparatus exists around it and the copies vary widely in quality.

A Sellita in a Le Locle 1858 is correct

Montblanc does not conceal that most 1858 references use outside movements, and finding one is confirmation rather than a finding. The mistake to avoid is the inference from the collection name: 1858 is Minerva's founding year and appears on watches that have no Minerva content whatever. Establish which production the reference belongs to before forming an expectation about the movement.
