Check the chapter ring alignment before drawing conclusions from it
Misaligned chapter rings are common on factory-original SKX watches and are a known characteristic of the price point, not an indicator of tampering. Alignment is useful evidence only in the other direction: a perfectly aligned chapter ring in a watch showing other signs of disassembly may indicate careful reassembly rather than originality.
Regional
J and K are market designations, not proof of assembly location
SKX007J and SKX007K differ in dial text and caseback marking, and the J carries 'Japan A' beside the serial. What they do NOT reliably establish is where the watch was assembled: the suffixes reflect the origin-marking requirements of the destination markets, and long-running disagreement exists among specialists about the actual assembly and movement-production locations. State the suffix and what it marks; do not state a country of manufacture on the strength of it alone.
