Matte finish is specified; a polished case is a refinish

The case is delivered bead-blasted. A Khaki Field Mechanical with bright, reflective flanks has been polished after leaving the factory. That is an originality finding rather than an authenticity one, but it also removes the crispness of the case edges that would otherwise help judge it.

A 3 Hz beat is factory-correct, not a defect

The H-50 runs at 21,600 vph where its ETA 2801-2 base runs at 28,800. The reduction is deliberate and is how the 80-hour reserve is obtained. A timing trace showing 3 Hz on a current-production Hamilton is the expected result; treating it as evidence of a swapped or mis-serviced movement is a false finding.

Published jewel count for the H-50 is inconsistent between sources

Hamilton's own specification and several retailers state 17 jewels — the count of the ETA 2801-2 base — while other published specifications for the same reference state 25. The catalog does not assert a figure. Do not treat a jewel count on the movement bridge as confirming or disconfirming this reference until the discrepancy is resolved against a Hamilton technical document.
