The first-series watch, produced for a matter of months before the micro-rotor arrived. Its identity rests on two things that must agree: the POLAROUTER dial spelling and the bumper caliber 138SS. A bumper automatic winds with an audible and palpable knock as the weight strikes its springs at each end of travel, which is immediately distinguishable from a rotor turning freely — so the caliber can be provisionally identified without opening the watch.
