Precise boundary of the Polarouter to Polerouter transition

Exactly when in 1955 did the dial spelling change, were there transitional watches carrying one spelling with the other generation's caliber as factory production, and how many first-series watches were made?

The Polarouter name lasted only a few months; Polarouter-marked watches were produced across 1954 and 1955, all on the bumper caliber 138SS. Critically, the first watches to carry the new POLEROUTER name CONTINUED to use the bumper 138SS — the name changed before the movement did, so the two transitions are sequential rather than simultaneous. The usable rule is therefore asymmetric: Polarouter implies bumper, but Polerouter does not imply micro-rotor. Exact transition month and production quantities remain unestablished; a dedicated Polerouter reference site exists and is the most likely route to both.

Scope This gap did its job: it found an error in the catalog's own rule. The transitional watches exist and run the OPPOSITE way to the one anticipated — the concern recorded here was a Polarouter dial over a micro-rotor, and what actually exists is a Polerouter dial over a bumper. The rule has been corrected to a one-directional one throughout the bundle. Remaining: the exact month of the name change and first-series production quantities, neither of which is established, and the second of which may not survive anywhere given the absent archive.
