Authentication Notes

Bezel

MediumProbable

Count the sides and check their regularity

Twelve sides, and their equality and the crispness of the transitions between them are the design's whole character. Polishing rounds the transitions, which is common on a watch of this age and is a condition finding. A bezel with unequal facets has either been heavily reworked or does not belong to the watch.

Bracelet

MediumProbable

An integrated bracelet cannot be generically replaced

The bracelet is specific to the case and there are no aftermarket substitutes that fit correctly. A fifty-year-old example will normally have stretched at the pins, and stretch is expected wear. What needs explaining is the opposite: a period Riviera with a tight, unworn bracelet has been rebuilt with new links, fitted with a bracelet from another watch, or is not as old as it is presented.
