The functional bezel-lock test does NOT date the watch
Because the reissue reproduces the lock as a working mechanism, a functioning lock confirms the model and says nothing about the era. Separating a period Superman from a modern one requires the crystal, the case finishing, the movement and the caseback markings. This is worth stating because the lock is such a strong check for other purposes that it is tempting to over-read it.
