Named after the Piping Rock Club, and awarded to the 1928 New York Yankees — the association that made it collectible and therefore worth reproducing. The black enamel bezel is the feature that carries the watch and the feature that fails: original enamel chips rather than wears, and a bezel with even, unchipped, slightly plasticky black fill has usually been re-enamelled or replaced.
