Crown position and caliber must agree
A 214 is set from the caseback and has no side crown; a 218 has a crown at four. A watch with a side crown containing a 214, or a caseback-set watch containing a 218, has been rebuilt from mixed parts. The cases are not interchangeable between the generations and the combination is a finding.
