Which Bulova Accutron models were catalogued from the factory as Spaceviews, in which years, and in which case executions?

Two findings. CHRONOLOGY: Spaceviews began as dealer display pieces; Bulova responded to customer demand with factory versions, initially solid gold and a few stainless steel, the first steel examples arriving at the end of 1962 and selling strongly through 1963, with gold-filled chapter-ring models following until the whole skeletonised group carried the name. PHYSICAL TEST, and the more useful of the two: modern reproduction crystals bearing Accutron markings are made in sizes that fit NON-Spaceview 214 cases — sizes Bulova never offered as Spaceviews. A period conversion could not have used one because it did not exist. So a Spaceview-marked crystal in such a size identifies a modern conversion dimensionally, which survives a conversion good enough to defeat visual inspection under a loupe. Scope Still the most actionable gap on the brand, but the framing has improved: research turned up a PHYSICAL test that does not depend on having the model list at all, which is a better instrument than the documentary lookup originally sought. The list itself remains worth assembling from the collector databases' scanned period catalogues, since it would confirm a Spaceview positively where the crystal test can only expose a modern conversion.
